F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why is the comic taking so long to come out?

A. The delays in the comic book production were due to a combination of time-extensive tasks. The creative process of the comic, the production and sale of merchandise along with programming and maintanence of the website all contributed to slowing down production. Steps have been taken to reduce the creation time of the comic in the futur. The comic book creation process will now be digital, avoiding multiple scans and retouching of the artwork. The merchandise will now be outsourced to cafepress avoiding distractions from the comic book production. The website has also been simplified to avoid complex programming and maintenance. We hope thesechanges improve the production time and quality of the artwork and products we provide.

Q. When do you expect to solve these issues?

A. The method has been reworked and I have learned to use all of the open-source programs required to create the comic in the most efficient manner. Contracts now take less time since I've become accustomed to using Inkscape and I've also gotten rid of any excess baggage (drawing table, furniture, books) that isn't absolutely neccessary to my survival. The last steps are underway, that is to say, securing funding and preparing a series of chapters before anouncing the release.

Q. Why are you changing the way the comic is created?

A. Mostly for speed and efficientcy. I think the look of the comic can also be enhanced using this approach.

Q. When can we expect to see the new version of the comic?

A. We want to make sure that when the comic is released again, that chapters can be made available on a regular schedule without interuptions. In order to fulfill that requirement, we are securing funding and preparing a set number of chapters in advance. No date is set for now, but preparations are underway. To be contacted when the re-release begins, subscribe to the google group in the contact page.

Q. Will the new version of the comic still be available for free?

A. Yes, the comic will remain free to download, copy and share with your friends. A print version will eventually be made available to order as a graphic novel. If you have questions not covered in the F.A.Q, use our email address listed in the contact section.

Q. Will you still be selling Big Brother posters and Ingsoc badges?

A. No. Dealing with inventory, online sales and shipping was an other thing that interfered with the production of the comic. Posters will be available through the cafepress service, but the original silkscreen posters will no longer be made available. Consider those original posters collector's items now. Badges are not available through cafepress and therefor will be discontinued. On the other hand a wider array of products are now available because of this. See merchandise section for more information.
